I was on my way home from Grand Isle on Sunday evening. The sun was slowly sinking lower and lower in the sky, making for rich, golden colors everywhere I turned. I noticed this shrimp boat heading home from the Gulf and thought it looked sort of interesting. I raced my car up the road to get in front of it (those boats can move!), parked and got out. I waited for just a second for it to pull into position and then snapped this shot. It looked good on the tiny camera monitor, so I didn't take any more. It turned out so well, it is now one of my favorite pictures.
As soon as I can find out an address for the captain and crew of the St. John Bosco, I'm going to send them a big print of it.
